It is with great excitement that we announce VFH Board Member Chaplain Glenn Davis has been named Chaplain of the Year by the National Sheriff's Association.
As many of you know, Glenn has been part of Vigils for Healing from our beginning in 2006. He has not only helped lead numerous clergy orientation sessions, but is also a constant advisor behind the scenes who is always willing to make time to share with us the knowledge he has gained through his many years of experience working with homicide victims' families.

Sheriff William T. “Bill” Schatzman has announced that Forsyth County Sheriff's Office Chaplain Dr. Glenn G. Davis has been recognized by the National Sheriff?s Association as “Chaplain of the Year” for 2008.
Dr. Glenn G. Davis has served the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office with distinction since July 23, 1988. With 29 years experience in clinically trained hospital and law enforcement crisis counseling, Dr. Davis supports existing Sheriff's Office staff, retirees, volunteers, relatives and victims of crime across Forsyth County and beyond.
In conjunction with his varied crisis counseling responsibilities, Dr. Davis has also developed many educational programs designed to promote better understanding of survivor-victims and to equip the responders and caregivers who assist them. These programs include workshops on community crisis response, death notification and traumatic grief counseling. Dr. Davis has worked closely with the WS/FC Schools, International Conference of Police Chaplains, N.C. Victim Assistance Network, Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Center for Community Safety, hospital chaplains, Hospice, disaster relief agency personnel, and local churches.
Dr. Davis earned his Bachelor of Science degree from College of Charleston. He earned his Masters of Divinity from Southeastern Theological Seminary and his Doctorate in Psychology from Kennedy Western University.
Dr. Davis and his family will be attending the National Sheriff's Association national conference in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on June 10, 2009 to receive this prestigious and most deserving recognition.
