The Hands Without Guns children's pledge:

"I promise to use my hands in ways that help people, not hurt them. I know that touching a real gun could put me or my friends in danger. If I see a gun I will not touch it. I will get a grown up. Then, I will be a 'life saver'."

About the Hands Without Guns Program: A children’s activity

Hands Without Guns is a gun-safety and painting activity for elementary and middle school children. This fun and non-threatening activity is suitable for community events, school fairs, and church bazaars. Children make a simple pledge to never touch a gun and to report rumors of guns in school to an adult, then paint their hands and make a colorful handprint on a large cloth banner, signing their name and age underneath.

To help take this message of nonviolence home, the children receive a Hands Without Guns coloring book and some Lifesaver candy. Adults accompanying the children are welcome to pick up gun safety brochures and free gun safety locks (supply permitting). If you live in the Winston-Salem, NC, area and would like to help at an upcoming Hands Without Guns event, please contact us.
